What is this number?
Female speckled trout spawn approximately every 4 to 5 days from approximately May through September (in SC). As trout grow, they release exponentially more eggs. A 20″ trout releases approximately 20 million eggs a spawning season. If we count each trout released through database entries, and count them only once, this is the number of speckled trout eggs spawned due to releases since program inception. This eye-popping number is updated in real-time.
