Release Over 20

Angler and Superlative Award Program

Beginning in 2025, we will be awarding the following anglers for their participation in Release Over 20:  National Conservation Angler of the Year, State Conservation Angler of the Year, and Influencer of the Year.

National Conservation Angler of the Year

This will be the (non-professional) angler with the most releases entered for the year nationally

State Conservation Angler of the Year

This will be the (non-professional) angler from each state with the most releases* entered for the year.

* We require a minimum of 25 releases to be eligible

Influencer of the Year

This will be chosen by the Release Over 20 Board of Directors for the individual who, through their actions on social media and otherwise, has has made the most impact over the year by influencing others to practice conservation and support the Release Over 20 philosophy.

Are professional fishing guides eligible?

Unfortunately, not for these awards.  We have a separate incentive program specifically for professional fishing guides.  Please see our Get On Board program!

When will these be awarded?

At the end of the year, the winners will be determined

What will the awards be?

This is to be determined, based on our funding and budgets.  We hope to have some really nice awards!
